Who We Are

Monty Honig is the owner of Honig Home Remodeling and is a licensed general contractor. Monty was born and raised in the Sacramento area and is a graduate of California State University, Sacramento. He relocated to Santa Rosa in 1964 and raised his family there. Monty has always had a keen interest in building and creating since he was a child growing up on a farm. Monty got his start building spec houses in the 70’s and formed his current company in 1979. Monty is pleased that his son, Mark, has also decided to fulfill his passion for building and joined the team as his lead carpenter in 2003. Monty has been a member of Sonoma County Executives Association since 1990 and is currently serving on the board. He is also a charter member of Redwood Empire Remodelers Association. In his spare time, Monty enjoys remodeling and landscaping his own home, traveling with his wife, Judy, and spending time with his family and two granddaughters.

Mark Honig is the lead carpenter for Honig Home Remodeling and the son of Monty. Mark was born and raised in Santa Rosa and is a graduate of Sonoma State University as well as Golden Gate University, San Francisco where he holds a Master’s Degree in Organizational Behavior. After working many years in the corporate world, Mark realized he would be more fulfilled if he changed his profession to building and creating beautiful spaces. He joined his father’s company in 2003 and has quickly learned the many aspects of his trade. Mark brings creative solutions and attention to detail to all his carpentry work. Mark is a member of Redwood Empire Remodelers Association. In his spare time, Mark enjoys remodeling and landscaping his own home, motorcycling, craft beers (not while motorcycling), and spending time with his family and wife, Jen.
